About Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway

Spanning three decades in the entertainment business, Merrily We Roll Along charts the turbulent relationship between composer Franklin Shepard and his two lifelong friends—writer Mary and lyricist & playwright Charley. An inventive cult-classic ahead of its time, Merrily We Roll Along features some of Stephen Sondheim’s most celebrated and personal songs. Maria Friedman first directed the musical at London’s Menier Chocolate Factory–a production that subsequently transferred to the Harold Pinter Theatre, where it garnered the most five-star reviews in West End history before going on to win the Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival.

Perfect cast, Fantastic, Intelligent, Believe the hype!

See it if you are serious theater lover seeking a quality production. This was first class in every way. Groff, Radcliffe and Mendez were perfect.

Don’t see it if you are in the mood for light fluff. If you only like musicals that uses pop songs that you know and love.

Finally version of merrily worthy of sond's genius, Tells story youthful dreams that are dashed

See it if brilliantly satirical, w great tunes, Sond's incmprably witty lyrics, fine perfs esp Groff/humanizing Frank & Tony-worthy Mendez

Don’t see it if DRadcliffe/Charley lost btw powrhouses Groff&Mendez; msgs "choices make a difference"&"ambition exacts price" obvious but execution's superb
